Can I view your private photos?

Privacy is IMPORTANT, of course it is!

I forgot the title of that old movie - which had the line "In time the only private place will be your mind - and even that's questionable."

Obviously, if you're reading this - you have Internet. You have Google - YAHOO - MSN - Facebook and oi, you have a profile on THE WEBSITE too.

Recently - 23:48:11, Feb 11 2011 (my time) - a forum post was made on THE WEBSITE. And it talked about privacy.

Which is kind of funny really. Because MOST of the people that have replied on the forum post of THE WEBSITE have been registered for more than a year or so.

Let's point out facts:

1. If you search something on the Internet - ANYTHING - (especially on Google) there'd be a MILLION results even for just a simple thing alone, like the word CAT for example.

2. If you Google your REAL NAME - anything (as long as it's online) that has YOUR name in it will pop out on the search results (still Google as example). Exhibit A (MY name):

If YOU click on the first link, you'll see this:

My page on EzineArticles.com - it's the JOB.

3. Pr.checker.info ranks websites - and I checked to see the rank for THE WEBSITE.

So, if you Google your name or ANYTHING that's connected to you and you have it ON YOUR PAGE on THE WEBSITE - there's a 4 out of 10 chance that ANYTHING about you will appear on Google. (And THAT's only on one ranking site - what about the others?)

4. If ALL three doesn't make sense, please check left hand side of Google which you'll see:

Now, back to more ramblings - WHAT I think is, that almost everyone (or those who were ahhhh "ALARMED") anyways, wants ABSOLUTE privacy. Like one would NOT exist in the Internet, because some are scared of being discovered by:

1. colleagues
2. classmates
3. exes
4. parents
5. boyfriend/girlfriend

Questions:

1. Why did you join if you do not WANT to be seen or heard from? (Google a SMILEY face and change your profile picture!)

2. True, we get to "design" our own profiles and/or write on YOUR journals and whatnots - BUT, is it NOT OUR responsibility to (being blunt) "cover your ass?"

And yes, a VERY FUNNY THING. On the forums, one said:

Reviewing THE WEBSITE's Terms of Service we can read that:

Maybe we're confusing THE WEBSITE with Facebook - which has a LOCK on everything, mind you and NOT to mention block too.

Which is pretty handy at times, that is true. BUT THEN AGAIN, THE WEBSITE is NOT Facebook.

Facebook is number ONE - TIME MAGAZINE - duh?!?! which means more traffic = more MONEY - and MORE MONEY means MORE updates for the profiles/websites.

Yes, Mr. Mark Zuckerberg is happy camper!

I'm sure, that in time THE WEBSITE will have MORE updates - like the Webcam for example, as one of the first ones there - it HAS BEEN TALKED ABOUT eversince and NOW or latter part of 2010 - it finally came to being.

Mr. C. is working on MORE fun stuff for all of us - I bet a BODY part he is.

So, brace yourself - protect your content - and, yes, MOST importantly don't bother messaging the Admins - they have more pressing concerns; everyone has a life even out of THE WEBSITE.

P.S.

Facebook Animated: Why everyone is changing their profile pictures into cartoon characters on Facebook..

Do you have Facebook? Of course you do. Everyone has one. Mark Zuckerberg made sure that you'll have one - it's fun and not to mention everyone's in it.

I have one too. Regardless of the JOB (which everyone has one) but Facebook is fun - at times - and yes, it does have it's moments - people spoiling your well-thought-posts and notes but still, it's there. For the FUN of it all. PLUS Facebook has old good friends AND also has Vampire Wars - what more could I ask?

This week, almost everyone in Facebook has changed their profile pictures, from the usual boring mugshot to the fun colorful favorite cartoon character since childhood.

A recent question was raised on Yahoo Answers and to quote:

"Why are people on Facebook changing their profile pictures to cartoon characters?"

To answer the question - as silly as it may seem - current status or "what's on your mind" have been circulating around on Facebook and it goes like this:

"Change your facebook profile picture to a cartoon from your childhood and invite your friends to do the same. Until monday there should be no human faces on facebook, but an invasion of memories. This is for violence against children."

And so, everyone did it.

Yep, it might just be a silly thing or probably just something to stir everyone up - remember the Facebook messages that claims that it's shutting down and you have to back your profile up?

I guess everyone would agree that this is more fun than that. Changing your profile picture into a cartoon.

And of course, cartoon characters are fun. They're adorable and they always make us laugh - regardless of the issues and drama of the world.

THAT is the paper today. And seriously, no one would really give much of a rat's ass about that.

I mean, would you really want to know who exposed secret agencies all the time anyway? WikiLeaks and whatnots. For sure we know the organization(s) exist but we never speak of it the way we do with cartoons.

So, if you have Facebook and haven't had the chance to change your profile picture into a cartoon - try it - join the fun.

Tap into that inner child in you.

HAVE FUN!!!
